- We collect what we need to register you, run the class, and keep you informed.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
- Class announcement emails are optional, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Applied Tech Works, LLC ("we," "us") handles personal information collected through the AI Made Practical website at https://www.appliedtechworks.com and related emails. If you have questions, contact us at support@appliedtechworks.com.
2. Information we collect
When you register
Your first and last name, email address, phone number, whether you currently pay for an AI subscription (and which one), whether you have a website (and its address), and, if you choose, one thing you hope to learn. We also record that you confirmed you'll bring a device and agreed to our cancellation policy, and whether you want emails about future classes.
Group bookings
If you buy seats for others, you give us each guest's name, email address and phone number. Please only do this with their permission. We email each guest a link to add their own answers to the questions above.
Waitlist and invites
If you join the waitlist, we collect your first name and email. If you use "Bring a friend" to invite someone, we use your friend's name and email only to send that one invitation. We keep a count of invites sent, not your friend's details.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's secure checkout page. We receive confirmation of payment, the amount, and limited details such as your card brand, but never your full card number.
Class day
Each attendee receives a ticket number. When you arrive, we record that you checked in.
Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability. If you leave checkout before paying, your browser temporarily saves your form answers (in session storage on your own device) so you don't have to retype them. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts load.
3. How we use your information
- To register you, process your payment, and send your confirmation, ticket and the class location.
- To manage seats, the waitlist, group bookings, cancellations and refunds.
- To check you in on class day.
- To tailor the class to the group, using answers such as your AI tools and what you hope to learn.
- To email you about future classes, only if you opted in.
- To keep records for accounting, tax and legal purposes, and to prevent fraud or abuse.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the workshop, and only as needed for them to provide their services:
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing, refunds and payment records |
| Netlify | Website hosting and storage of class, waitlist and ticket records |
| Resend | Sending confirmation, ticket, waitlist and announcement emails |
| Google Fonts | Delivering the website's typefaces |
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
5. Emails and your choices
Some emails are part of your registration, such as confirmations, tickets, location details, guest invitations and cancellation notices. Class announcements and waitlist notices are optional. Every one includes a link to unsubscribe or leave the waitlist, and you can also reply to any email and ask us to stop.
6. How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it:
- Class details: 180 days after a class, we automatically delete guests' phone numbers and answers, and check-in records for that class.
- Waitlist: entries are deleted when you leave the waitlist, or automatically after 12 months.
- Announcements: if you opted in, we keep your name and email to tell you about new classes until you unsubscribe. After you unsubscribe, we keep only a record of that choice so we don't email you again.
- Payment records: Stripe keeps payment records, including the details submitted at checkout, as required for accounting, tax and legal obligations.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time (see "Your rights" below).
7. How we protect it
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Card data is handled entirely by Stripe. Links in our emails for tickets, cancellations and guest forms are cryptographically signed so they can't be guessed or altered. Admin access is password protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, subject to records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons. Depending on where you live, including New Jersey, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. To make a request, email support@appliedtechworks.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time and won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Children
Our workshops and website are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the effective date above, and if the changes are significant, we'll let registered attendees know by email.
